You may notice a few misnamed ponies on ebay and other auction sites, most notably 'Dum-dum-de-dum'. The real hasbro name for this pony is 'Pony Bride', a year seven release and the first of two bride ponies in her mold.
Why Dum-dum-de-dum? Good question....the name originated from "The My Little Pony Price Guide" by D.L. Birge. The author admits to changing many of the original hasbro names, 'Pony Bride' and 'Mommy and Baby set' for example.
'Dum-dum-de-dum' is a 'Dumb-dumb-de-dumb' bane to most mlp collectors. We know it is wrong but have no way to stop the misnaming.
As an off shoot, most toy "dealers", those that sell but do not collect, use price guides as a 'Bible'; a correct, accurate and irrefutable 'Bible' of information. No matter how many mistakes, either intentional or not, are included in any book. Dealers will argue blindly that they have all the information because they have it in print, black and white or worse yet, with color pictures.
You will instantaniously know when you see the 'Pony Bride' listed as 'Dum-dum-de-dum, you are seeing a listing from a dealer, or other non-mlp collector/seller.
