What are CF and FF?

The original six my little ponies known as 'collector ponies' are: Blossom, Snuzzle, Cotton Candy, Bluebelle, Butterscotch and Minty. There were two versions of the original six collector ponies released. The first version, flatfoot collector ponies, are unique from all other ponies ever released because of their body style and hooves. The flat foot ponies have just that, flat feet. There are round circles imprinted one the bottom of their hooves along with the copywrite info. All other ponies both rereleased collector and beyond have concave hooves. In addition to the flat feet, the legs of the original release collector ponies, or flatfeet ponies, were shorter and their heads were lower than the rereleased collector ponies.

The original six collector ponies were rereleased as collector ponies again, but with concave feet, an indentation with copywrite info instead of flatfeet. The body style also changed with longer legs and the head being held in a higher position. This body style change lead to more stability and continued on with all other ponies ever made in the original collector pose.

This sounds confusing, but read on.. to recap, the first six original collector ponies had flatfeet (ff) and a different style body. The rerelease of the original six collector ponies had concave feet (cf) and the body style that is known as the classic collector pose. easy right? Keep reading.. of the first six ponies, collector pose, concave feet, two ponies, blossom and cotton candy, were re-rereleased in year two.

The other ponies who share this body style or pose are:

Now comes the big debate: Which versions are rarer, FF or CF? If you're talking about Cotton Candy or Blossom, FF ponies are much rarer, hands down. However, with other ponies like Butterscotch or Minty, many people will argue that the CF version of them is rarer, but still others will fight you to death to convince you that the FF versions are rarer. In the end I guess it comes down to personal preference.
